Home Assessments
Home Assessments
Ageing in Place Australia can provide you with an individually tailored inspection and reporting service designed to highlight areas within your home that need to be modified to allow you too successfully and comfortably Age in Place.
The Assessment Categories
AiPA performs home inspections from two distinct perspectives.
The first area of consideration is the home itself. The review of your home clearly and specifically identifies all those issues that may prevent you from successfully remaining in your own home as you age.
The second perspective allows for your needs to be identified. AiPA has developed a series of categories related to functional ability to ensure that the information provided is relevant your personal circumstances and needs.
The Categories to which AiPA is currently able to assess individual homes to are as follows:
- Category One describes a home that meets the needs of a person who has good mobility, is active and independent with no special requirements other than the normal ageing process.
- Category Two describes a home that meets the needs of a person who has limited or decreasing mobility and other physical needs. The resident may rely on the use of a mobility aid such as a walking frame or wheelchair.
- Category Three describes a home that meets the needs of a person with major mobility issues and requires increased, if not total, assistance and support from external sources.
The assessment category to be performed will be established with you prior to the inspection.
